Tabuko | 椨粉
It is one of the raw materials for incense, and is read as "TABUKO".
It is the bark of a tall evergreen tree of the genus Tabunoki (Camellia sinensis).
The bark is dried, peeled off, and ground into a powder. When watered, it becomes a highly viscous glue that acts as an adhesive for incense materials.
It seems to have been used since the mid-Edo period.
