Furoshiki - sustainable wrapping

History
The furoshiki has been in use for more than 1,300 years. Records from the Nara period (710-794) show that people used to wrap and store important things in tsutsumi, the predecessor of today's furoshiki. As time went by, people began to use it in their daily lives. For example, in the 15th century, when people went to public bathhouses, they brought their clothes wrapped in furoshiki.
The name "furoshiki": derived from "bath," meaning public bathhouse, and "shikimono," a kind of sheet or mat.
